How radiofrequency works
Bipolar and Multipolar radiofrequency of QUAD is used with excellent results for skin tightening through controlled subcutaneous heating.
The principle of radiofrequency is the heat generated by radio waves, which makes it possible to increase blood circulation and consequently stimulate fibroblasts (the most abundant connective tissue cells that make up the inner layer of the skin).
The fibroblasts, stimulated by the heat, produce new collagen and elastin to replace old and damaged collagen.
On the other hand, the heat that reaches the adipose tissue has a beneficial effect on blood circulation, reducing microcirculatory congestion and the accumulation of fluid and fat cells by promoting a lipolytic effect.
The dermis thus appears firmer because the amount of fibrin in the matrix has been progressively increased, improving its appearance.
At the same time, the skin appears tighter, firmer and more youthful.

The QUAD Skin Renewal System
Bipolar RF has both electrodes on the handpiece for greater depth control.
The QUAD™ Skin Renewal System combines safe, reliable and targeted delivery of RF to the dermis: it has two handpieces, Bipolar for the face and Hexapolar™ for the body.
The Bipolar and Hexapolar™ configuration distributes the energy in the tissues in a controlled and advantageous way: the two electrodes placed close to and in contact with the skin offer maximum safety: the relative concentration and penetration of the energy in the tissues, such as those of the face, gives the advantage of a safe, effective, long-lasting and virtually painless treatment.
QUAD Bipolar RF technologies (left). One RF generator controls two electrodes. There is only superficial penetration since the energy flows along the shortest path, between the two electrodes.
“Multi-polar” RF Technologies (right). One RF generator controls 6 electrodes. There is only superficial penetration since the energy flows along the shortest path, between the electrodes (similar to bipolar RF).
No cooling is needed because the energy is split between two or more receiving electrodes.

QUAD RF skin tightening procedures enhances the production of collagen, increase blood flow and visibly reduces fine lines and wrinkles on the top layer of the skin.
The passage of radiofrequency through the skin heats the underlying tissues, particularly the collagen and elastin fibres that make up the skin’s scaffolding and determine its elasticity and firmness. This heating denatures and degrades collagen (collagenase) and activates fibroblasts to produce new collagen, resulting in tissue renewal (collagenesis). The dermis becomes thicker and firmer.

Number of sessions
A course of treatment with QUAD involves 6-8 sessions at intervals of approximately 7 days. Clinical results may vary from patient to patient.
